Three Easy Friendship Cards to make!

As I was mentioning on this post I am sharing three cards perfect for your friends using the brand new bundle “Tasteful Touches” as well as the Forever Flourishing die set that I absolutely love!

This bundle is part of the In Good Taste Suite, which as you know it contains coordinating products, like designer series paper, stamps, dies, and other embellishments.  Using Products from one suite always helps you in the designing process as everything coordinates beautifully.

The designer series paper a.k.a. DSP or patterened paper from this suite has designs a bit different than your regular patterned paper, it has designs of textures like tile, wood grain, paint, stone, knits or textile, so your cards get a very interesting look.

You can see in my cards the designs that look like tile, textile and paint, so you can see what I mean with “an interesting look”. I really think these look gorgeous if I say so myself 😂

The stamp set in this suite Tasteful Touches has the flower image, and because of this, I paired it with the diet set from the Forever Fern suite. This die set is the one that has a lot of foliage die cuts making it perfect for this flower.

The sketches and other details

On this section you will see the sketches from the cards in this post. This will make it easy for you to recreate these cards with any suite you might like.

Friendship Card #1

The background on this card is too busy, and so I added a white circle under the flower and the leaves to make them pop up!. This is a tip to help you bring balance in your card and to be able to use other shapes even when the background of your paper is too busy.

For the sentiment, you will see as well larger labels in solid colors that coordinates with DSP. Again this is to bring balance and to highlight the words in the card.

Friendship card #2

For this card you can see that the paint texture is not that busy, and the textile pattern is more like a solid color, so pairing them gives as well some balance to the card. Same as with previous card the sentiment is one a solid contrasting color, which will help it to pop up.

To add a little bit of texture to the background, I stamped the squares in the same color family as the background.

Friendship Card #3

On this card, you will see a balance as well. The background is less busy, but it has two flowers with leaves on each end giving a nice balance.

Similar to the other cards, the sentiment is on a large label to ensure it pop up. I think this might have look even better, if I had heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

The Video Tutorial

And as usual you can see the video tutorial below, where you can see step by step how to make these cards. I go over how to color the flowers using alcohol markers. If this intimidates you a bit, make sure you watch it, you will see this is very easy!
