Card Making Made Easy Day 3

Welcome to the Third and Final day of the Card Making Made Easy Workshop

Hope you have been enjoying these training videos. But more important I hope you have started taking steps to incorporate what we have reviewed so far..

If you have not watch the videos from Day 1 and Day 2 please stop and go watch them now.. Each training video builds upon the previous, and it would make more sense when you see them in order.

Day 1 we talked about how to look for inspiration and on Day 2 we dive deeper on how you can use that inspiration for your cards, and I shared a lot of examples of how to use that inspiration, so make sure you watch those videos..

You can click on the below images to go to the previous trainings.

Video # 3

Day 3 is an exciting one (my favorite one if you ask me), because on this one I will share how you can make a whole card set using a few supplies.

On this video you will see how to:

  • Look at the paper, and how to define how to use it, whether it is for backgrounds, or embellishments.
  • Coordinate colors
  • Start playing with the different elements on a sketch to make more cards
  • Stay in your creative zone until you have all the cards you want

It is great training video and I don’t think I ever shared this much information in one single training.

I feel like this is the behind the scenes of how I prepare the cards before I do a FB live or before I film for a card class, this is the prep work I do every time before I craft a set of cards..  I am sure you will find this very valuable.

On this video I mentioned that I was going to link to the post where I made the final cards that I prep for in this video.  Click here to watch the video tutorial where I actually made all the cards we prepped for.

You can see in this post all the finished cards, so you will have the full view, the before and after of how I come up with multiple cards using the inspiration of one single sketch!

You can download the PDF’s for this Video below.

A few tips!

Hopefully now you can see how you can incorporate the inspiration you find into your card making.. And a little secret here, I use multiple inspirations at a time..

For instance, I would select a few sketches, a technique and a color combination and then come up with as many cards as I want..

Remember that once you start seeing a trend of what is it that you like from the inspiration you find, you will realize what is your uniqueness.. or your style.. And once you know what is your style, it will be so much easier to come up with card ideas.. Because you will know where to start..  I hope you continue looking for inspiration and incorporating it into your cards..

You will see how your card making will be evolving to where you will no longer need to rely on others to make cards, no more casing..

Next Steps!

If you enjoyed this workshop and want to take this even further, then pay attention to your inbox tomorrow, as I will be sharing with you more information about my Card Making 101 program. This program is where I go even deeper into how you can to come up with endless cards ideas and enjoy your crafting time to the fullest!

So be in the look out for this video where I will share more details on how to continue working together.. Please know that this program is not open all the time. And when I open it, it is only for a short period of time.

Also, next week I will going live every day on my Facebook Page and my Facebook Group to continue sharing how you can use the concepts we learned during this workshop into your cards.

There will be prizes when you share with us the cards you make during this week. So make you are in my FB group and look for the post  where you can post your cards to be entered into the drawings!

  1. Thanks Allie, I loved how you said to take the scraps and keep going to make more cards. And not stop to put them together. Great ideas. Thanks for sharing.

    • I find that if we dont stop to create card by card, then it is easier to come up with even card ideas as we gain momentum when we are in the creative zone.. and after you have designed as many cards, then you can stop to put together the cards, but at least at this point you already have plenty of card ideas to work on.. 🙂

  9. Allie – you really nailed it again with this video! I loved the 101 Class — I’m so grateful to continue to grow my skills and confidence with card making using all your techniques and tips. As you know, I’ve made several hundred cards within this past year of pandemic — the most enjoyable ones were using your technique rather than just copying ones online and getting frustrated when I didn’t have “exact” supplies.

  10. Your videos have been so helpful. I now know how to use my DSP and create lots of cards. I love how you showed us how to look at the paper and pull coordinating colors and embellishments. That will be very helpful for me to get started. I have so much paper in boxes that I didn’t know how to use. Now I do. Thank you!
