Welcome to the Card Making Made Easy Workshop!
I am super exciting to have you here, mainly because I know you are going to enjoy leaning how easy it is to come up with as many cards as you want.
Designing your own cards can feel daunting at times. Not knowing what to use or feeling like you don’t have the right supplies, even though you might have a full room of crafting supplies.
You might even feel like you can make cards only if you copy or case (as we say) what others are creating.. Which there is nothing wrong with this, but deep inside you want to be the one creating your own designs.. Perhaps you want to be the one creating cards others want to case! Very flattering, right?
And I am here to tell you, YOU can come up with beautiful card ideas when you follow this easy process.
Video # 1
On this first video I am going to share the first step in this process which is all about inspiration and how to use it..
I hope you have enjoyed this first video in the Card Making Made Easy Workshop. Even better, I hope you follow this first step and find card inspirations right away. Then ask the questions we discussed. (do the homework 😉)
You soon will find your card making uniqueness when you do this exercise, so don’t dismiss it.
Share with me in the comments. What are the things that are calling your attention the most from the card inspirations you found?
And let me know what would it mean for you to come up with as many cards as you want??
For me, At the beginning, it was to enjoy my limited crafting time. Later on, when I decided to do this as a business, it was to come up with as many cards regularly for my events without taking me forever. Plus giving my customers original designs in my classes..
Your turn.. share with me, I would love to hear from you!
This video describes me to a “T”! What an awesome video – thank you so much. For me, I love DSP, bright colours and embossing. I am off to do my homework now – looking forward to the next video!
I am so excited you enjoyed this first video, and I cant wait to hear what you find out to be the things that you loved from the inspiration you found.. believe me once you know what is that you like the most, it will be second nature to come up with card ideas every single time.. 🙂
You make the most beautiful cards. I got many ideas from the video.
I was so like you when I first started stamping! I still have a hard time using my favorite paper. I am so looking forward to seeing each one of your videos. You are an inspiration to me.
So excited to see you here!! I am sure you will enjoy the rest of the videos in this workshop 🙂 thanks for your kind words
You have described me to a T as well. I would love to be able to come up with my own ideas or designs instead of making a card the same as someone else. Looking forward to learning more.
Sorry, I used my husbands name in error.
Enjoyed your video. I am sending cards to church family and friiends since pandemic. Making a number of cards would be amazing to keep up in a reasonable amoit of time.
Thanks…heading to pinterest for 10 minutes!
So excited to hear you are enjoying this video series! I love that you are sending cards even more during the pandemic.. would love to hear what you found on your 10 min in pinterest!

I know you will soon be able to come up with your own card ideas! pay attention to what you like and to look for the trends.. that will help you a lot as you will discover your style, and this in turn will help you create your cards in an easier way
..
This is exactly how I used to till I started taking classes with you and learning from you. Now I use just about all my paper and making lots of cards. Thank you so much Allie
I love this!! I am so glad you found me, and join me in the classes. I definitely enjoy your friendship! 🙂
To be able to share my talent with someone else makes me happy.
Oh yes! sharing our cards is always super special.. you enjoy making them and the person receiving your cards also get that joy..
1I have bought and bought and bought and failed on the using aspect! My daughter has come to live with me. She loves taking all the extra paper and stamps I have (which she has catalogued and I almost passed out to find over 200 sets and she has not incorporated HER stamps from another company. I am over whelmed and that is what got me in trouble. She is rapidly doing simple cards and using papers up. At this rate we will be busy for 20 years! I am 74!!!
YOUR help is so appreciated for myself. I can swing in and get over this smothered feeling now. Thank you!
Oh Dee, we all have been there! we collect all these beautiful sets, but might not use them as often, so we need to break the cycle and start making cards with what we have.. I would love to hear from you at the end of this workshop to see how this might help you..
It’s like you know me, this video was eye opening. I spend so much time looking for card ideas using specific supplies, etc., that I never have time to really craft. I have so much DSP and stamps that I have never used. I love using DSP, texture, dimension, embellishments and fun folds. I enjoy sending cards to my family and friends and especially holiday cards and treat 3D projects for grandchildren. I’m so looking forward to your next videos, thank you for sharing these with us. I’m off to do the homework
I have been guilty of going the Pinterest rabit hole for hours, and then not really crafting.. that is why i put a timer now, and i go as quickly as i can to find card ideas, otherwise i would spend hours and hours..
Excited to hear from you as we go with this workshop to see what you think.. hugs
When I watched your video, I was in complete agreement with what you were saying. How many times have I started looking for something on Pinterest or other places, to actually find myself 3 hours later still searching and haven’t used that time to make a single card. Then feel deflated because of wasted time and nothing to show for it.
If I’m honest, there’s a LOT of wasted money just sitting in my craft room spent on paper, stamps, embossing folders, dies and whatever… My brother-in-law has stated more than once that if my house ever catches on fire, my craft room will still be burning a week later.
Am anxiously waiting for your next video to see how to break this cycle and move on. Thank you so much for offering your class and for free!!!
Now, I’m going to Pinterest for 10 minutes only,,, and I’m setting a timer.
My hope is that after this week and next week you can see how you can use the inspiration you find and incorporate what you already have in your craft room.. like i say, i do have boxes full of DSP that i was hoarding back 10-15 yrs ago.. now a days i really make an effort to use as much of the paper as i can..
cant wait to hear what you found on your 10 min in Pinterest.
I think that the reason I would like to make as many cards as I can is because I am making cards for the troops to have to send home to friends and family without the cost of the cards for them. I want my cards to look real nice for them. I also send out a lot of cards to family and friends, so I need to have a lot of ideas.
oh I love the work you do for the troops, that is so great to support them that way..
I like to make cards and hAve been sending the to family and friends more the past year because we don’t see each other as much. I am also a demonstrator and need to come up with different ideas for workshops. I need to use up DSP. Thank you for the opportunity to learn new techniques and get new ideas.
I am so excited to have you in this workshop. I hope you enjoy it 🙂 I know this will help you create a lot of cards to send to your family and friends and for your workshops 🙂
I want to use my supplies that I have and enjoy my crafting time. I love watching your videos.
thank you Charity for your sweet words!! I am so glad to have you here! I am sure that after this workshop you will be using even more the supplies you already have
I want to use my time better when crafting, making the most of my supplies and enjoy creating my own cards. thank you for this video class!
yay!! glad to see you here!! I cant wait to see what you do after this video series training! i know that you will enjoy your crafting time even more while using the supplies you already have! 🙂
This video has been so helpful to me. I struggle to create a card. I love how you made the cards look so different.
Thank you Yoli! Happy to hear you are enjoying this workshop
Thanks for your ideas. I would like to use what I have to quickly make a lots of cards for classes and to send out.
I am sure you will enjoy this workshop.. Cant wait to hear your feedback after watching all the videos and playing with the concepts we discussed.
Allie, I too want to be able to just use up paper I have bought. I feel since seeing you use sketches for design layouts that would be a great tool. And I really can just make simple cards to use to send to people more often as I really like corresponding and sending cards sometimes for no special reason just to say HI! So…not wasting DSP and saving money by using it up. That is key. Why buying paper you do not use equals money down the drain. You always motivate me in many ways…I so appreciate you.
I am looking forward to these three videos.
Thank you.
hi Pat! I now use as much paper as i can on my cards, mainly because of the same reasons you mentioned here.. why buying paper if we are not going to use it.. 🙂 now i see that if i use it my cards, it helps me a lot to come up with ideas, color combos, etc.. so i use it now all the time.. 🙂 lots of hugs, Allie
Hi Allie, Thank you for asking us to determine what inspires us when looking at other cards. It turns out that I’m inspired by at a lot of things. I really am attracted to fun fold cards. I focus on specific card components – such as use of embossing and stitched dies of different shapes, stamped images that can be colored, and a variety of color combinations. When wanting a bright color combo I lean towards Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, and Gorgeous Grape. For pastels Daffodoil Delight, Highland Heather, Mint Macaroom, Balmy Blue, and Soft Sea Foam. Hope this is not too many speciifc details but it was interesting that I had never thoguht about what inspires me when making cards. This was a very helpful exercise! Thank you
Oh how i love all your notes on what you like! i think that knowing what it is drawing our attention definitely helps, as now you can start by focusing on those things and incorporate them into your cards.. for me it was sketches what always made me like a card, so i use them all the time.. I also like the background techniques, so i try to incorporate those as well when i can.. and definitely texture..
I cant wait to hear what you think from the rest of this workshop 🙂 thanks for sharing
Hi Allie – thank you for doing videos. I never thought to use Pinterest, now, I will. Been trying to get inspiration from Youtube and facebook. I would like to start using what I already have more but lack the creativity. Looking forward to watching your videos.
Oh Mary, I hope you watch the full workshop! I know that you will get lots of ideas about how to get your creative juices going.. cant wait to hear what you think from the rest of the videos.
