But today I wanted to share with you one easy Friendship card that you can make using this medley! so lets get started shall we!!
Friendship Card using the Flowering Cactus Product Medley
When I want to start making cards, the easiest way to start is to pick which products I want to use, that way I can focus on just a few selection, rather than everything I have on my crafting room.
I don’t know you, but being able to focus on a smaller selection of products always helps me get creative and find my mojo flow easier, than when I don’t even know what to use.
So picking a product medley is just perfect! as everything is already contained in the medley to get into crafting mode!
The Color Combination
Once I know what products I want to use, I would look into the designer series paper and select a color combo. For the card I am showing today, you can see the color combo I picked.
Based on the color combo, you can select the cardstock you want to use for your card base and other elements in the layout of your card.
Sketches & Other Details
And finally, it is time to play! For this part usually I have a layout or sketch in mind, as I find that having a sketch to follow helps me a lot in coming up with my cards. if you have never done so, try it next time!
I promise you, it will help you get your creative juices going!
Below you can see the sketch I used for this card! this sketch is kind of a new one for me and I have been enjoying it a lot!! I have been using it mainly with designer series paper, as it forces me to mix and match different patterns.. Which helps me use my paper.
You can see my previous post, where I used this same sketch for a birthday card.
A few things to mention on this card.
There is a sheet on the designer series paper that you can cut out completely with the dies.. Therefore you don’t need to do any fussy cutting!
I would recommend cutting out a full page and then use all the cut outs on your cards, as I did here on my card with the cactus I used as the focal point. That way you just play with other layouts, but the focal points are already cut out ready to be used in your cards.
I found this to be super easy when coming up with card ideas. Also it helps me visualizing if I like one better than other in the layout I am using.. so give it a try and let me know what you think..
Another thing I want to mention is that to glue the little felt flowers, you want to use the Tombow liquid glue. It worked really well and it dried really quick.
And finally, when playing with the twine for bows, I would suggest you do double bows, it looks fuller and cuter. You can see exactly how I do this on the video tutorial below!!
