Thank you Handmade Card using the Butterfly Bijou DSP

Thank you Handmade Card using the Butterfly Bijou DSP

This month Stampin’ Up! released a beautiful collection called Butterfly Bouquet! which if you have not seen, keep reading, as you will fall in love with it immediately.. 

There is a new bundle (stamp + dies) and two new paper packs. The Butterfly Bijou DSP and the Natural Touch specialty paper.  (see below)

And as you can see all these brand new products coordinate beautifully! The Dies are amazing, as they cut out the silhouette of the butterfly as well as stand alone butterflies with all the details..  You can check this post, where I show three more samples using the whole suite! And one of these have the details butterfly as the main focal point of my card.  So you can see the full potential of these dies. 

Now, Stampin’ Up! has told us that the bundle will make it to the new annual catalog being released in a few more months, however, the paper packs will not. And these are only available on a while supplies last!  

The Butterfly Bijou DSP, has beautiful designs, and one of these sheet coordinate perfectly with the dies. You can line up the images with the dies and cut them all at once! how cool is that?

One of these butterflies is what I am using today as my focal point for the card I am showing you here.  

So you can make lots of cards in a very easy way using these cut outs.  Just change the background and voila!  

You can see this other card, where I sponged a cloudy background and just added a sentiment and the butterfly and I got another beautiful card! so playing with the DSP will help you make lots and lots of cards! 

The Color Combo

Since I wanted to use the larger butterfly of this suite, I used it as my color combination idea.. 

This always helps me when coming up with color combinations.. Believe me, almost 99% of the times I use the designer series paper as the one to give me color inspirations.. and since all the products from Stampin’ Up! color coordinate, making my cards ends up being really easy! 

The Sketch and other details for this card

This card was the last card I made during the Card Making Made Easy Workshop, where I show how you can use the one sketch to make lots of cards, while all looking different and beautiful. 

You can see the sketch on the left. 

This is a very simple sketch, yet if you followed me during this workshop, by now you know that it is super versatile and it gives you sooo many options to modify it.. 

So in the card today, I made the circle larger to follow the larger butterfly from the DSP. Also I had to make the circle towards the middle of the card, so that the butterfly would fit in the card. 

And instead of cutting a circle from the DSP, I actually cut out the circle from the card front and added designer series paper under this layer..  That way the circle is recessed.

Additionally, I added the shimmer paint diluted with Alcohol with a spritzer to make the card front to be shimmery!!  in person, this card looks even better! and I added wink of stella to the wings of the butterfly to make it pop up even more!

So you can see how easy it is to make a handmade card using the Butterfly Bijou patterned paper!  Play with it, you will see you can make this and many more cards!
