Three Easy Fall Cards to make!

With Fall upon us, I know we all need to have easy Fall cards to make during this season! Don’t you agree?

So with that in mind today I wanted to share with you Three easy Fall cards you can make in no time. Plus I will share with you a few tips on how to maximize your designer series paper to get more cards out of it!

Let’s get started, shall we???

Three Easy Fall Cards to Make

The cards I am showing today are all made using the the Tidings Plaid designer series paper.  And what is cool about it is that I only use one 6 x 6 sheet of paper from that pack to make all three cards.. I also coordinated these cards with some scraps I had from the Regals DSP pack. However you can easily change them for cardstock if you don’t have this paper pack.  Below the cards!

As you can imagine you can made these cards in any color combination available in the pack, all three cards are very simple to change the theme, if you don’t want to make Fall cards. Just change the sentiment and the pumpkins for some other shape and your are ready to go.

The Color Combination

You are probably tired of hearing this, however, the designer series paper is how I get all my color combinations and this was not the exception. I followed the main designer series paper to pick up the colors I wanted to use for this card.

If you are ever struggling with colors, just follow this tip and I promise you, you will be golden.  No need to get all fancy with color theories and all that jazz.. you can just see your paper and pay attention to the colors you like in a pattern and go from there.. trust me you will see how easy it gets the more you do this.

Sketches and other details

As I mentioned in the intro, these Fall cards are super easy to make, and they maximize your paper, meaning you can make a lot of cards from just one sheet of 6 x 6 DSP.

In this case I used a strip of 2″ for the first card and the for the second I used what was left, the key for the third card was to die cut the rectangle from the piece that I was using on card #2 so I could use that portion on card #3.

This tip is a great one, specially is you are covering it with another element. After all no one will even notice it! And you get three cards instead of two! how cool is that!! right?

Bellow the sketches and the cards in more detail in an effort to help you see better the elements and to make it easier for you to case. I have also provided below the video tutorial for you to see step by spec how to make these cards.

A few other tips for you:

  • The pumpkin was stamped with Early Espresso on a Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then added color with the stampin’ blends a.k.a. alcohol markers. This makes it easy to add dimension to our element without too much effort.
  • The ribbon was colored using the stampin’ blends. So if you are ever thinking you don’t have the perfect ribbon for your project, think again and color with your alcohol markers. Even better, using the stampin’ blends make them color coordinate 100% with your project.
