Are you looking for card ideas using the Butterfly Brilliance bundle? Well my friend, then you are going to enjoy today’s share.. As I am going to share with you a Thank you card that is very easy to make using the Butterfly Brilliance bundle from Stampin Up!
But what is even better is that this post is part of an International Blog Hop where my follow demonstrators around the globe will be sharing even more project ideas using this bundle. So make sure you hop around with us and visit all the blogs participating in today’s blog hop. I know you will get a ton of inspiration and will have a lot of ideas to keep you crafting with this amazing bundle.
So let’s get started shall we?
Thank You Card.
For my project today I wanted to use the dies from the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle, mainly because I love the ones with the details!
Also these dies are stand alone dies, meaning you can use them as the embellishments. And if you know me, you know I love to use the dies to embellish my cards! So any time there are stand alone dies, I am all over them!
From my card you will see that I used the Flower for every Seasons designer series paper (DSP), as this one has so many flowers in their patters.. And I believe these butterflies would go perfectly with any of the designs in this pack! Don’t you agree?
After all we see butterflies in flower beds.. right?
Color Combination
As far as the color combo for my card, I mainly used the colors in the DSP as inspiration.. You know I love to see at the designs in the DSP’s and pick from there a color combo from my cards.
I love doing this and today was not the exception.. If you ever struggle with color combinations, give it a try, you will see how easy this goes.
Because I am using Stampin’ Up! products, the task to mix and match becomes so easy, as all their products color coordinate beautifully. So once I have decided the color combo, then it is just matter to pull my cardstock, embellishments and ink in the same colors to have everything coordinate.
Like I said, this becomes so much easy, when the products color coordinate. Do you agree?
The Sketch
As usual, I used an sketch to come up with my card, here is the sketch I used!
I changed the teal circles for the butterflies, which you can change for anything you want! This is the part where you should have fun and change it to whatever you want. You can use flowers, or any other shape your heart desires.
This is why I love using sketches as they really provide me with a visual inspiration that I can change in so many ways.. Just give it a try! Challenge yourself to use one sketch to come up with 5 different cards. You will see how little by little your mind starts getting creative as you try to change things around..
If you give it a try, please let me know how you liked the experience and if you found it helpful..
I always love to hear what you think of sketches and if you found them helpful to create your cards.
Other Card Details
As mentioned I wanted to use the Flowers for Every Season DSP, but in all honesty, this paper pack is soon retiring, and so I was playing with the scraps I have left over in this pack.
And while looking at the scraps I realized I had the Piece of DSP with the circle in the middle, so I just cut this piece to fit the card. I also cut a piece of the flower pattern to fit underneath. and then I cut two other strips of the bumblebee DSP to add to the borders.. all of this was really just using scraps from this pack!
Do you save your scraps? I definitely do, but I also love to go over the scraps and see how to use them in cards, rather than cutting a brand new sheet.. 😁
And for the butterflies, I actually die cut them in Basic White cardstock, and then I used the wink of stella to add the shimmery look in all the butterflies. I then glue them with the glue dots just in the body section of them. And to finish them up, I added the gold glimmer enamel dots in its body.
As far as the sentiment, you can see that the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle does not have sentiments, so you can use anything you already have. In my case I used the sentiment from the Prized Peony stamp set.
Once I stamped the sentiment in a strip of Bumblebee cardstock, I punched out the ends with tailored tag punch to make the banner shape. This is by far my favorite punch ever! I think it makes it so easy to create banners in so many sizes!
