blog hop banner

Today I am going to share an easy card using the Hand-Penned Suite from Stampin’ Up!

If you haven’t hear yet, we have a brand new catalog and with that lots of brand new products! So it is a really excited time for us in the Stampin’ Up! world as we get to play with new suites.

And with that being said, make sure you hop with us, as today’s blog hop is all about the brand new catalog, so I am sure you will see lots and lots of ideas with all the new products.

So lets get started!

Meet the Hand-Penned Suite from Stampin’ Up!

One of my favorite suites is the Hand-Penned Suite that Stampin’ Up! just released on May 4th.

Below you can see a picture of this gorgeous suite!

Hand-Penned Suite from Stampin Up!

What I love the most of this suite is that the designer series paper (DSP) has lots of color combinations, so you can just pick whichever pattern you like and then take the color combo from there!!

The Hand-Penned Petals Stamp set is also a great stamp set. This set has line images so you can use it for several stamping techniques. You can water color the images or use the coordinating bold images to fill the bouquet of flowers, or use your alcohol markers to color the images as well.

Like I mentioned, there are lots of options.

For my card today, I decided to use the bold images to fill in the flowers in the flower bouquet.

The Color Combination

For the color combination, I picked a paper pattern and took a color combination from it.  You can see below the color combo I picked.

This is always the easiest way to get color combinations that never fail! believe me! give it a try and you will see how easy this is.

Easy Friendship Handmade Card

As you can see on my card the designer series paper really makes the card pop up.. It adds a lot of color and it makes every element of it flow better.

For the focal point, I decided to use the image of the two flowers, and I colored them using the coordinating bold images from the same set. I loved how it looks and because the bold images do not cover every single area of the line image, it makes it look more artistic.

One tip as you are stamping the image with the bold stamps, is to wait until the end.. you know when you put down the first stamp, it might feel like it’s not pretty, because of all the white area. But once you start adding the other images and color, you will notice the artistic look and I am sure you will love it.. so please don’t dismiss using those stamps!

The scallop border is part of the die set on the Hand-Penned Bundle. If you ask me, I think this is one of those dies you will want to use in a lot cards, as it cut the scallop, with the stitch marks along the border. Super cute!

Below you will see the video tutorial with a step by step instructions on how to make this card.
