If you are looking for Christmas card idea in July to start getting ready for the holidays, then you are in for a treat!!! As today’s blog hop theme is about Christmas in July.
So all participant bloggers will be sharing Christmas projects to inspire you and give you ideas to start getting ready for the holidays!
Lets get started!
Christmas Card Idea
For my card today I used the Tidings of Christmas suite! The designer series paper is really nice and the colors are just very “Christmas-y”. Plus it helps you to make very traditional Christmas cards with the greens and reds.
See below!
Color Combination
As usual I used the designer series paper as inspiration to make the Christmas card. This is really the easiest way to come up with color combos for your cards.
If you ever find yourself struggling with color combinations, give this a try!
You will see how easy it is to get color combos from DSP.
By the way, if you have not heard yet, there is an awesome promotion during July where selected pattern paper packs are at 15% discount! And the Tidings of Christmas DSP is part of that promotion, so if you’ve been thinking about this paper pack, this month is perfect to add it to your collection!
Think about it, if you get the Tidings of Christmas DSP, you could start making your Christmas cards right away! 😉 Ready to get your favorites DSP? then go to my store and put them in your cart.
Other packs included in this promotion are listed below:
- You’re a Peach, Sweet Symmetry, Hand-Penned,
- Tiding of Christmas, In Good Taste, Pansy Petals
- Beauty of the Earth, Bloom where You’re Planted, In the Wild
Christmas Card Details & Tips!
For this card I wanted to get lots of layers and dimension, so I added several layers and texture in each layer as you can see in more detail in the below picture.
If you look closer you will see that the basic white cardstock was embossed used the macramé 3D folder.
The scalloped rectangle came from the dies from the scalloped contours dies and the labels for the sentiment came from the Hippo & Friends dies!
One tip I want to share with to maximize your paper is to cut out the different layers from the same cardstock piece. This is very handy when you have other papers in between the layers.
You can see what I mean in the pics below.
Also for the stocking, there are two stockings images in this set. One stocking is more like a bold image and the other is a line image. And while I love how they both look, i thought it would look even better when you cut the top on one and add it to the other one as you can see in the next set of pictures.
What do you think? do you like the stocking look? I think it looks nicer! 😉
