All right, so let’s get starting!
Cute Easter Card Ideas to make!
Since we are making cards for Easter, I thought the Springtime Joy stamp set would go perfect!
I love the little bunny included in this set, and I just couldn’t resist using her on all the cards.. Not to mention this image is very easy to color if you make them white bunnies like I did 🙂
As you can see these cards featured mainly the designer series paper and the bunny image with a sentiment. Like I said it was pretty easy to put together these cards.
Color Combination
Once I had decided on the stamp set to use, I started brainstorming on the color combination to use.. I wanted to use the Rococo Rose pattern from the Love you always specialty paper pack, so I needed to have a color that would go well with it. So I thought that shades of Grey would well with it..
This is where the Peony Garden designer series paper came in mind.. and I picked the Smoky Slate color, since I loved how the pattern on this paper coordinated with the Rococo Rose design.
Sketches and Other Details
For these cards I actually used the layouts from previous cards as inspiration.. If you took my Card Making Made Easy Workshop you know that this is the first step I show you.. Select a few cards that you like and define what you liked from them, so you can create brand new cards.. And this is exactly what I did for these cards!
Handmade Card #1
Here is the card I used for inspiration on my card. You can see that I use exactly the same layout! I just changed the paper and texture. For instance in the card on the left (pink/blue) the card has embossed cardstock on the two layers, and on the second card, I used instead patterned paper.
Also the sentiment on the first card is on a designer series paper, and on the second one it is on cardstock. So you can see how one card will help you get another card, that looks totally different.. right?
If you are interested in seeing more details about the inspiration card you can find more information in this post. This post is about birthday cards using patterned paper.
Handmade Card #2
For the second card you can see the inspiration below..
The inspiration card is a card I made recently where I share how to make your own designer series paper using stamps. I loved so much the layout, that I wanted to make it again, however you can see I changed the shape for the sentiment and I made a larger banner to go underneath it. Plus I added a bow..
Again think of ways you can change the layouts when using a past card for inspiration..
You can read more about the inspiration card on this post, where I shared how to make three cheerful birthday cards from the patterned paper you create with stamps.
Handmade Card #3
And for the third card you can see the inspiration card I used.. This is one of my favorite cards I made using the Forever Fern Suite!
I love the texture on this card and the balance between cardstock and designer series paper.
Being very honest here, I used this specific layout mainly because I had a smaller scrap of the specialty paper, and I new this particular layout was perfect for it.. not to mention I would recreate the same layout as one of my favorite cards..
If you are like me and love the Forever Fern suite, then check out this post, as I share three easy cards using this suite! I know you will love them too!
Sketches
And here are the sketches I made from the inspiration cards, if you want to use them for future reference 😉
The Video Tutorial
And as usual you can watch the full video tutorial below, where I go into detail about how to color the bunny with the stampin blends. I provide some tips about how to make the images finished even when they are all white, as well as how to add those cute cheeks on the white image. Not to mention I provide all the measurements in the video tutorial.
