Three Cute Halloween Projects
As mentioned before I am sharing today Three Cute Halloween projects using the Cutest Halloween Bundle from Stampin’ Up!
This bundle comes with a stamp set and a punch to make the cute little pumpkins, cats and ghosts! These are indeed really cute!
Color Combination
For the color combination, I decided to go with a traditional color combination for Halloween. I just love these colors together for Halloween! I think they make the projects look cheery and full of color.
Do you have a favorite color combination for Halloween?, for me this one is definitely a fave!
Halloween Projects Details
Below you can see a close up to each of the different Halloween projects I made for this post. These cards and treat holder are really easy to make and you can see how to make them on the video tutorial that I am sharing below.
Please note the detail on the pumpkins, ghosts and cats! All of the details were added with the stampin’ blends, like the shading and the cheeks.
For the treat holder I actually used one of our 3″ x 3″ acetate boxes, these are truly super easy to put together and you can decorate it for any event you want! These are usually my go-to box for treats whenever I am needed to make a lot of them or whenever I am rushing. These do not take too much time to assemble and they always look amazing!

Do you want to see three easy Halloween cards to make using a non conventional patterned paper? If so you are in for a treat, as today I will share with you how to make these cute Halloween cards using any paper you might have.
In these cards I used the Playing with Patterns designer series paper, which has nothing to do with Halloween!!
I shared this on my past videos, but this year’s Halloween paper from Stampin’ Up! was not really my cup of tea. It is beautiful, but I thought it was darker for my taste. I love bright colors with monsters or spooky critters the best, so I decided I was still going to make my Halloween cards using non-Halloween designer series paper for this year.
These is my second set of Halloween cards.. If you have not see the first one you can do so here! – As you can see the first one used the Have a Hoot bundle with the Plaid Tidings designer series paper (DSP). Similar to the designer series paper I am using on these cards, the Plaid Tidings is another great DSP pack for so many occasions and it has way too many colors so the possibilities are endless. 😉
So where do you start when making your Halloween cards?? you might ask… Keep reading and I will take you thru the steps
Three Easy Halloween Cards to make
First thing first, we need to decide on the designer series paper you want to use. In my case, as I mentioned before, I wanted to use the Playing with Patterns DSP.
Once you have selected the DSP pack, go thru it and see the patterns you want to use and even more important the colors that you are liking from the pack!
This step for me is the one that sets the tone of my cards most of the times! Let me explain.. If I wanted to get a “Happy” card, I would select colors that are bright and cheerful. Like in this case I wanted to have cheerful Halloween cards.
Below is the color combo that I picked form the Playing with Patterns designer series paper.
Once you have selected the color combination you want to go for, then it is matter to decide which color you want to use as the main color and which one as the highlight. In this case I went with what I saw in the DSP. Crushed Curry as the main color and then use Night of Navy for highlights. But Honestly I could have gone the other way around and I can guarantee you, the cards would have turned out stunning as well. So just play with the colors and you will see!
Card Details
Once I had selected the colors, I went ahead and picked my stamp set, and here is the thing.. before hand I kind of knew I needed to have something I could color in any color. Specially cause I knew I was going to use a non-Halloween theme DSP.
The Flight of Fancy was a great one to use as I could use image of the witch and change the colors of the outfit to any color combination I needed.
So it made it the perfect image to use!
TIP – Always have in mind what you want to do.. In my case I knew I needed an image I could customize so and image I can color, would be ideal, specially cause I was going to use a paper pack that is not Halloween themed!.
Because I was going to color her using blends, I stamped the image with the Memento ink. that way the alcohol markers would not pick up any of the black ink.
To highlight the witch’s outfit I added wink of stella to her dress and her hat, which adds a glimmer look that you will love!! so try it out!
And finally, you can just play with the layout of the card using the cardstock, DSP and images you selected. One advice here is to always use one embellishment for your card, specially one that coordinates with it. In my case I used ribbon! and I honestly think, it made the card pop!
This first card was very basic and easy to follow, but I knew for next two I wanted to try using the same image, and colors but step it up with the folds so below you will see both of the fun folds I used.
If you want to learn how to make these fun folds, make sure you watch the video tutorial below.. here is where I would show the step by step as well as the measurements of how to make all these cards.
The Video Tutorial
Below you can watch the video tutorial, where you will see how to color the witch step by step. Plus you will learn how to make both of these easy fun folds! Both of these fun folds are super easy to make and you can use them for any card you card you are making.. so give it a try!
And below you will find a full supply list, in case you want to recreate any of these cards!
TIP – as you can see on the video tutorial the Flight of Fancy is very similar in their images, so you could be doing these cards but for Christmas and Valentines!! believe me you want this set as you will be able to make these cards for two more holidays!!!
Are you taking the challenge and recreate these cards for the other two holidays? even better what if you use the same DSP???? that sounds like a great challenge!!! 😁😁😁
Share with me if you create these cards..
and Let me know if you have any questions, I would love to help you with any question you might have regarding card making.. I am serious, if you could have a private chat with me, and you could ask me anything about card making, what would you ask me? How to make Cute Halloween Cards
As I was mentioning in the introduction, for these Halloween cards I wanted to use the Have a Hoot Bundle from Stampin’ Up!.
This set has different sets of little owls, all super cute. And even better, these owls can be used for so many occasions. So check it out, I am sure you will love it.
As usual, once I selected the stamp set to use, I looked for designer series paper to get the idea of colors I wanted to use for my projects. And once I had selected the color combo, then it was just matter of selecting sketches to make cards.
This process makes it easy to come up with card ideas every single time. Give it a try and you will see.
The color combo
Selecting the colors for my cards is always very easy when I based it on the patterned paper I want to use.. this always ensure that I have a cohesive project and that they look color coordinated.
For these cards, I decided on the following color combo.
One thing you will note is that the Gorgeous Grape was not part of the designer series paper. Instead, this was my own addition. Mainly because I knew this color would pop up even more the cape on the owl.
So, try to see if you can add a highlight color to your color combo… sometimes that adds a lot to the card..
Sketches & Details
Below you will see the sketches I used for each of the cards you are seeing in this post and the corresponding card, as well as some of the details.
If you want to learn how to make these cards step by step, then make sure you watch the video tutorial below. I also show you in detail how to color using the stampin’ blends a.k.a. alcohol markers.
Handmade Card #1
For this first card I loved the cluster of die cuts together to build up the card. Having a small owl as the image for my card, kinda forced me to think of ways to make it stand out, and having a small cluster of die cuts helped a lot.
I also added some rhinestones that I colored with the basic black stampin’ blend. You can do this with ribbons and gems to get embellishments in any color that you need. Plus when you use Stampin’ Up! you will get embellishments that color coordinate perfectly.
Handmade Card #2
For the second card I added a punched diamond made with the tailored tag, and to add a second layer I added two more diamonds punched in basic black. Note that I glue them where a you can see only a little border. you can do this to add mats to the little pieces.
I particularly liked the ribbon underneath the white diamond. This is the first time I have done this, and I am not gonna lie I think I will be doing this again soon as I really like how it looked.
Also having the ribbon and the diamond gave a great layout to add the little owl as the focal point.
Handmade Card #3
And finally on this card, I loved the layout in general. Not sure if you can tell, but I have added a layer of basic black on top of the basic black card base, but the top layer has a texture from the Tasteful Textile #D embossing folder. This makes this layer pop up.
I have really enjoying adding texture with the embossing folders. These add a lot of wow factor to your cards with really not much work. So give it a try!
The Video Tutorial
As promised here is the video tutorial where you can see step by step how to make these cute Halloween cards. These are all easy to make to help you get ready for Halloween and mail them in time!! 😉😉😉

Hello there! Today I am going to show you how to make a quick and easy card using sketches, and over the next few days I will sharing other Halloween projects. This will help you get ready for Halloween in no time! Come back to this blog to check out the new projects!

Quick and Easy – Halloween Card using Sketches
What do you need to get started?
Excellent question! When I come up with quick and easy cards with sketches, I try to see if I have designer series paper (patterned paper) that has big images that can be either cut, punch, or die cut. These will really help you in making your projects go super easy and in no time.
Why do I start with an image that I can cut? fair question. The reason is because when you start looking for a sketch to make your card, you can use this image as main element of your card, so it is easier to see what type of sketch you need when you have selected that image.
Since this card is for Halloween, lets make sure you look for paper that has cute pumpkins, witches, monsters, or any other related image that you can cut. And while you are already looking for Halloween themed patterned paper, look for another sheet of designer series paper (patterned paper) that could go well with the images you have cut.
Stampin’ Up! does great when it comes to patterned paper, as they have a collection of sheets on each pack that works pretty well together. You cannot go wrong when choosing two sheets from the same pack! The card, I am showcasing today, uses the Monster Bash Designer series paper!
Once you have selected the patterned paper, then see which colors will coordinate with those images. You can pick the card stock for the card base, sentiments, as well as the ink colors that you will be using.
Finally you need to pick embellishments! you can pick ribbon, rhinestones, stickers, etc. This should color coordinate with the colors selected on the previous step.
I have the supplies, now what?
The next step in putting your card together is to come up with an sketch. I recommend going into Pinterest and look really quick for a sketch that catches your eye! but notice I said REALLY QUICK! lol cause I know you can easily fall into that rabbit hole where you start looking for something in Pinterest and three hours later you are still looking for that idea or inspiration 😀 Believe me I know!!
One of the things to look for in a sketch, is for it to be simple without many layers, specially if you are new to using sketches. This will also help if you want to come up with quick and easy cards that you can make in no time. The truth is, simpler sketches are so much easier to follow and to put together.
Also, keep in mind the image you selected on the previous step when selecting a sketch. In my project I have a Witch frame that is a circle, so that helps me visualize what kind of sketch I need to use.
Do not use complex sketches. Complex sketches tend to confuse or overwhelm people, because you need to interchange the pieces on the sketch with real paper, and people get frustrated trying to come up with 4 or more colors and paper that can go together. I try to only use 2 to 3 patterns or colors, and so if the sketch has 2 to 3 elements it is easy to substitute these element when making your card.
To help you get in and out of Pinterest without falling into the rabbit hole, I have created a board on my Pinterest account that you can see HERE.
On this boardI have save sketches that I consider to be easy to follow, to make sure you don’t get overwhelmed. You can go in and out really quick from Pinterest and grab a sketch that will work for you! 😀
I have chosen a sketch, what is next?
Once you have the supplies you want to use, and have chosen your sketch then the fun begins!! It is time to put your card together!
Let me show you what I did here on my card! You can see the sketch I used on the left, and on the right you can see the actual card using elements from the sketch.
If You pay attention to the card, you will notice that I altered a little bit the sketch by adding a few things, for instance I added a scalloped circle behind the Witch, and I added ribbon under the scalloped circle as well as some rhinestones on the side of the card.
You see, that is the secret to using simple sketches! They have room for you to add more things to embellish and your card looks even better. Don’t you think?
Specifics on this card!
Now that you saw the behind the scenes of how you make quick and easy Halloween cards cards using sketches! Let’s talk about this card in specific.
As I mentioned before I used the Monster Bash designer series paper. I love that this pack includes two sheets of frames with monsters, as you can cut all of these in one afternoon. Cutting these images ahead of time, makes it super easy to put all your Halloween projects in no time! No kidding! You just need to put paper and card stock together, add the cut images to your project and you are 90% done.
I am using the Witch frame image from the designer series paper, but I decided I wanted to add a scalloped circle under it to pop up the Crushed Curry (yellow) from the Witch image. The scalloped circle is from the Layering circles! This set includes multiple sizes for circles and coordinating scalloped circles, so it is a great set to have!
Following the sketch, I used two different sheets of patterned paper that goes well with the witch frame I had cut. Since these came from the same designer series paper pack, they color coordinate really nice. I glued down these paper. Please note that the banner ends on the strip was cut using the Tailored Tag Punch. This punch has became my favorite ever! You need to have this one on your collection!
I stamped the sentiment from the Spooktacular Bash stamp set, and punched it out with the 1 1/2″ circle punch.
As for the ribbon, I have a GREAT tip!!! you can color the metallic edge ribbon using the Stampin’ Blends! WHAT??? you read it well!!! you can color your ribbon with alcohol markersand get any color that you want! Is this not the coolest tip? Again You are welcome! ha ha ha!
So now that we have all the elements ready, I glue everything together following the sketch.

Hello Friends! Today I am sharing a treat holder perfect for Halloween! I know I will be doing some for my son’s teachers, and classmates, so definitely need to get going creating some treat holders, since I have just been doing cards 😉
This is another project using the Toil and Trouble designer series paper! I really think that even just having this DSP alone will be just great to be able to complete Halloween projects!!
The images on this paper makes it so easy to design cards and treat holders, as you can fussy cut so many of the images on this paper pack and add them as elements for your project.
If you don’t like fussy cutting then I recommend you get the cauldron bubble bundle as the cauldron framelits die cut several of the images on the Toil an Trouble designer series paper, so this will save you some fussy cutting.. 🙂 The witch’s hat on this treat holder can be cut with the framelits.
I used the takeout treat bundle to make this cute little box. This little box can fit about 2 to 3 chocolates, so it is perfect size to make multiples.
The takeout treats bundle has different dies and images that would coordinate perfectly for other occasions, like valentines, Christmas, Halloweeen, and you can customize it using other sentiments from other sets and then you get an infinite type of occasions like showers, birthday favors, graduations, etc, so this is a great bundle to add to your collection as I am sure you will be able to use a lot!!
Watch the video tutorial below, where I go over measurements, tips and tricks on how to make this card. You will see that this card is so easy to duplicate!!

As usual, I recommend that you have a pen and paper as you go thru the blog hop, so that you can jot down all the different products that you like and start building your shopping list.
I decided to share a Halloween Card as soon we will be celebrating Halloween and therefore we need to get ready.. I enjoy making cards for this holiday, and this year Stampin’ Up! designed a lot of cute products for Halloween projects, so I am super excited to play with some of these products to create Halloween cards.
The card that I am showing here is featuring the Toil and Trouble designer series paper and I paired it with foxy friends stamp set as well as the fox builder punch. Is he not the cutest raccoon disguised as a witch?
The witch hat was fussy cut from the designer series paper, however you could also die cut it using the cauldron framelits die from this suite! there are several images on the Toil and Trouble DSP that can be cut with the framelits set.
I used the Spooky Bats Punch to get those cute bats on this card, and the star is from the takeout framelits dies. You can see more details from the close up picture below.
And as usual I added wink of stella to some elements of the card to highlight them, in this card I added it to the bats and the star.
The sentiment is from the itty bitty greetings, in case you were wondering 🙂 Watch the video tutorial below, where I go over measurements, tips and tricks on how to make this card. You will see that this card is so easy to duplicate!!
