Want to learn how to make 12 Thank You Cards with just two sheets to Designer Series Paper a.k.a. DSP? If so, then keep reading as you will see how easy this is.
Also please know that today I am participating in a blog hop which theme is Thank you cards. So if you are looking for card ideas, then make sure you visit all the participating blogs. I know you will enjoy watching all the site while getting lots of inspiration.
I recently found a card maker over YouTube that shares templates to cut your DSP as well as a sketch. So when you follow her instructions you can get several cards at a time.
I definitely was hocked immediately!
You know I love sketches and so having a sketch and a cutting template to play really call my eye.
I gave it a try and OMG, the results were amazing! I loved how easy this was to follow. And I loved that her cutting template also maximized the use of your sheet, so you get really low scraps.
This channel is called Call Me Crafty Al – and Alicia shares a new template every month so you can work on your projects during the month. You can check here channel here. For my cards today I used the template she shared for March 2021.
Alicia from Call Me Crafty Al is tremendously generous, as you can download her templates for free as long as you are subscriber..
Thank You Cards Supplies
For this template, you need to use two sheets of DSP that coordinate well together, that way you can mix them for the cards. So I decided to go with the Peony Garden DSP as I loved how well the colors coordinated.
Plus I knew I wanted to use a petal pink ribbon I had in my collection.
The template also called for a scalloped circle, but in my case I wanted to use the circle die cut from the painted labels. This is one of my favorite circles as it decorates the cards really nice.
And since I was using the Peony Garden Suite, I decided to use the Prized Peony for the cards, plus it also had a beautiful sentiment for the Thank You cards!
Color Combination
From the Peony Garden paper pack, I selected the following color coordination.
I love using the designer series paper for color combinations as it makes it so easy to get color inspirations and ideas. Give it a try if you ever find yourself having trouble with color combinations.
Card Details
You can see on the pictures below, how the cards turned out in more detail
I loved switching the patterns for the top and bottom, as it makes it look different, even though the are the same sketch.
Also, note how I use the image from the front of my card, into the inside of the card. This is a very easy tip that you can use to make your card even more special.
Finally, one other tip to share is the use of the gems.. Note that put them in the less busy pattern no mater where this was.. I did this as the would show up better rather than in the busier pattern.
As far as the bow, I used a retired petal pink bow, however, you can use the metallic edge ribbon (silver or gold) and color it with the alcohol markers a.k.a. Stampin’ Blends in Petal Pink.
And above you can see the 12 cards I made when following the cutting template! I promise you this is super easy to follow, so give it a try! I know you will love to play with it.
